WE ARE LOOKING FOR COACHES TO SHAPE THE NEXT GENERATION OF FREERIDE SKIERS WITH THE LLFSC

The Lake Louise Freeride Ski Club is looking for energetic, driven and committed individuals that love to ski and coach motivated athletes. Lake Louise is one of the best playgrounds in the world when it comes to winter sports, and the LLSCs are at the heart of it all. We promote passion for skiing, a strong club culture and great mentorship towards goals and career development, making us an ideal organization to be a part of. If you are looking for a chance to develop as a coach while enjoying some of the best freeskiing in the world, the Lake Louise Freeride Ski Club is the perfect opportunity for you. Reporting to the Freeride Head Coach, you will work with our Big Mountain Comp program, creating an exceptional athlete experience.

This is a seasonal position, November - April. The ideal candidate is available one or both weekend days, is excited about mentorship opportunities in the ski industry, and wants to take advantage of additional coaching opportunities at competitions, Winsport training and other freestyle training environments.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of Freestyle Canada Fundamentalz certification (in house training available if not already certified), and must be a member in good standing with Freestyle Canada.
  • Experience coaching athletes or in instructive multi-week ski programs.
  • Strong big mountain skiing skills and comfortable on jumps/cliffs is required.
  • Freestyle Canada Air Certifications is a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to act as a RISE Ambassador of the LLSCs to build and strengthen a positive team culture and environment.
  • CSIA, ACA certifications and/or experience in IFSA competition venues are an asset.
  • Aptitude in other area such as sport psychology, strength & conditioning, etc. are an asset.

EXPECTATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
  • Coach athletes 12 - 18 years of age, full days Saturday and/or Sunday.
  • Deliver all programming with a high level of safety and strong focus on fun.
  • Work closely with other coaches to maximise engaging training environments.
  • Participate in regular coach development sessions post athlete training.
  • Maintain effective communication with Head Coach, parents and athletes.
  • Track athlete progress through quick and simple digital records as instructed by Head Coach.
  • The ideal candidate lives (or is willing to relocate) between Calgary AB and Golden BC.
  • The majority of training is based out of Lake Louise, however additional coaching opportunities may be possible at IFSA competitions and/or weekday evenings at Winsport.
  • Air 2/3 certified coaches may have additional opportunities to work with athletes on trampoline, airbag and water ramps through the fall and winter.
